5 signs your website is losing you customers

Oct 1, 2026 · 4 min read · BoostCab team

Your website is your hardest-working employee or your most expensive decoration. Here are five signs it's the latter.

1. It takes more than 3 seconds to load

Half your visitors are on phones, often on mediocre connections. Every extra second of loading costs you roughly 7% of conversions.

2. Your phone number is hard to find

If a visitor has to hunt for how to contact you, most won't. Your number and contact button should be visible without scrolling.

3. It doesn't say what you do in 5 seconds

The "5-second test": show a stranger your homepage for five seconds, then ask what the business does. If they can't answer, you're losing people.

4. It looks broken on a phone

Over 60% of local searches happen on mobile. Pinch-to-zoom, tiny buttons, and cut-off text tell visitors you don't care about their experience.

5. There's no reason to act now

No clear next step, no "get a quote", no booking button, no compelling reason to contact you today. Visitors browse, leave, and forget.

If three or more of these sound familiar, it's time. A good website pays for itself; a bad one charges you rent in lost customers.
